Gimme Shelter: Rebuilding Hope in Jamaica π―π²
Hurricane Melissa has left devastation across Jamaica β in St. James, Westmoreland, and Hanover, nearly 80β90% of homes lost their roofs, leaving families without shelter.
For over 25 years, the staff of Highland House cared for me like family. Now theyβve lost nearly everything β now it is my turn. Through Gimme Shelter, my goal is to help 10β12 of these families rebuild their homes with roofs, windows, and essentials to make them livable again.
In the coming days, Iβll travel to Jamaica with tools, drills, chainsaws, and other supplies from the U.S., working with Karl to purchase local zinc roofing, lumber, and mattresses for rebuilding.
This project operates under the One Love Learning Foundation (501c3) β all donations are tax-deductible, and I can provide a receipt for your contribution. I will also personally match every contribution received.
Every dollar will go directly to providing shelter and safety for families who once cared for me. Together, we can give them what the storm took away β a home, and hope.
