Mission
Loving and empowering children by providing them with the tools to satisfy their basic human needs while facilitating communication with other children around the world to eliminate cultural barriers and fear.
The one love project has the humble beginnings of a 2 acre garden on the Highland House grounds and an even smaller garden planted at the Anchovy school producing fruits and vegetables for the lunch program. Not satisfied with the 350+ meals per week that the gardens were producing, Brenda then facilitated the construction of a school kitchen, beautification projects, technology upgrades and the addition of the arts to the school curriculum. Seeing the impact of these changes at the school and throughout the entire community of Anchovy, Ms. Isaac soon realized that this could be a viable, replicable model to be deployed at additional schools worldwide. The final missing piece would be to connect all of the schools so that the children could communicate to exchange culture, knowledge and life experiences. One Love Learning Foundation was born.
Today’s youth, the future of humanity, are facing unprecedented obstacles and challenges for not only success but sheer survival. One Love Learning Foundation was formed to enlighten, enable, and inspire the minds and hearts of our children so desperately in need.
• Everyday 28,000 children die from poverty related causes
• 115 million children are not in school
• 133 million young people cannot read or write
• 70% of deaths before age 5 are caused by disease or combination of disease and malnutrition
One Love Learning Foundation was founded in 2008 by Brenda Isaac. Having traveled the world extensively as a corporate event planner, she’s witnessed first-hand the poverty, pain and prejudice our children endure daily. Her purchase of the famed Oscar Hammerstein Highland house in Montego Bay, Jamaica exposed her to a particular group of children in need of not only care and hope, but also of basic daily nourishment. The initial intent was merely to assist with the feeding of the children at Anchovy Primary School, but the loving energy provided by and surrounding Miss Isaac has fostered even greater opportunities to assist and serve our youth.
